The Role:

In this role you will join the Paid Marketing Optimization (PMO) team, who own and manage the data-led systems that ensure we’re making the most out of our advertising spend. Your contribution will have a direct impact on paid marketing bidding strategies, optimizing existing automated systems and using data to help identify new opportunities or problem areas in paid marketing. You will work in collaboration with Performance Marketing, Data Science, and Data Engineering teams to actively measure and manage the performance and optimization of our paid marketing program.

The performance marketing team at Viator is an influential team and responsible for driving traffic to the website. Exciting travelers during the trip planning and booking for upcoming experiences.

What You’ll Do

  • Produce original analyses to identify and explore opportunities to optimize our search engine marketing (SEM) bidding strategies towards maximizing revenue, for example identifying LTV segments and feeding into bidding systems.
  • Seek out and implement improvements to our existing automated paid marketing systems. Past examples include fine-tuning a model we use that factors in canceled bookings and changing how we pass certain conversion event information to our advertising partners
  • Plan and execute measurement tests and experiments to evaluate the impact of different bidding strategies and apply findings to improve performance.
  • Apply analytical techniques to measure the true value of our SEM, Display, and Paid Social marketing activity.
  • Collaborate closely with cross-functional teams such as Performance Marketing and Data Science to align on strategies, share insights, and ensure objectives are met.
  • Check on marketing performance daily and regularly report outward to the wider team and upward to the leadership team about trends, wins, and future plans.
  • Stay informed and proactively implement emerging ad technologies, best practices in media systems management and bidding optimization, process improvements and automation to enhance performance.

Skills & Experience

  • Bachelor’s degree in Business / Maths / Statistics or a related quantitative field.
  • 4+ years experience working in a data analytics position, preferably in a digital marketing environment.
  • Ability to turn complex data into compelling storytelling and actionable recommendations
  • Expertise in interrogating data using SQL and writing custom SQL queries, and understanding of database structures
  • Understanding of statistical analysis techniques used for experimental design such as regression analysis, hypothesis testing, multivariate analysis and time series analysis
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills to effectively present findings, explain complex concepts and influence stakeholder decisions making
  • Ability to manage multiple projects, prioritize tasks and meet deadlines while maintaining a high level of accuracy and attention to detail.
  • Has a genuine passion for learning and self-improvement, continuously seeking out new opportunities to expand knowledge and skills.
