Job Summary:

Overall Purpose of the Role

Disney+ is The Walt Disney Company’s new Direct to Consumer video entertainment service. The service consists of long form and short form video built around five key content brands (Disney, Pixar, Marvel, Star Wars and National Geographic) with an appealing and easy to use interface accessed across multiple platforms (e.g. televisions, mobile devices, PCs).

The Disney+ team is responsible for the day to day operation of Disney+ across Europe and Africa, specifically focused on marketing, customer acquisition and retention, partnerships and synergy, content programming, research and analytics.

We are looking for a senior data analyst to join our Disney+ Insights & Analytics team. Working within the Subscriber Growth Analytics team, the purpose of the role is to deliver timely insight to inform initiatives across Disney+ EMEA, utilising our vast data to discover opportunities to drive subscriber engagement and growth. The role will work in close partnership with other Analytics and Data Science teams, as well as functional teams (Content, Subscriber Growth) at global and regional (EMEA) levels.

The role will leverage top class analytical skills spanning from insights generation to experimentation (using our vast Disney+ data), excellent communication skills, and the ability to understand and support business needs.

Areas of Responsibility

  • Deliver timely analysis and insight to support the Subscriber Growth functions in EMEA (customer acquisition, in-app merchandising, product, retention and engagement), to measure initiatives and proactively identify growth opportunities amongst subscribers / future subscribers. Deliver this through identifying and then applying the right tools and techniques for each piece of analysis
  • Present clear results with insights, related implications and actions to a variety of stakeholders.
  • Support training of teams to adopt self-serve and interpret data insights, encouraging a data-led decision making mindset
  • Be proactive in identifying opportunities to improve processes and creating new ones, acknowledging opportunities when automatable scalable solutions are required and when one off analytics is best placed
  • Scope out and aid implementation of tests where relevant. Define success metrics, ensuring robust statistical results
  • Develop relationships across the Analytics and business teams at regional and local level, in particular the Subscriber Growth team, including Performance Marketing and Customer Management, as well as within the global Analytics team to align on key priorities and targets
  • Closely manage requests coming through, liaising with stakeholders to deliver analysis in a timely, manageable manner

Experience and Professional Qualifications Required

  • • 5+ years of analytical insight experience
  • • Extensive experience using SQL essential
  • • Python/R or other statistical programming language experience a plus
  • • Bachelor’s degree in a quantitative field including Marketing, Economics, Business, Mathematics, Statistics, Data Science, Engineering, Physics, Chemistry or Social Science graduate degree preferred
  • • Experience in data vi sualization and dashboard development (we use Looker)
  • Understanding of statistics concepts (e.g., propensity modelling, hypothesis testing, regression analysis) required, with practical application experience preferred

Skills & Competencies Required

  • Top class analytical mindset, with ability to QA others’ work and ensure consistent and robust work is delivered (including through others), being able to draw on the wide range of analytical tools and types of insight available
  • Have a demonstrated history of translating complex data sets into clear and actionable narratives and communicate opportunities and challenges to stakeholders
  • Flexibility in approach, taking creative approaches to getting results where necessary
  • Ability to think strategically, analyse and interpret market and consumer data
  • Strong communication, influencing and relationship building skills
  • Experience of working collaboratively across international organisations
