Schedule: FT Shift : Monday to Friday with one weekend rotation – 1 pm to 9:30 pm The community you’ll be caring for: • Established in 1997 and now a 203-bed hospital • AdventHealth Celebration Health was designed as a Mediterranean resort-style facility to serve as a cornerstone of health in Disney’s planned community of Celebration, Florida • The hospital consistently delivers a state-of-the-art healing environment to residents of Osceola, Orange, Polk and Lake Counties, as well as to visitors from across the United States and the world. All within a ‘living laboratory’ of groundbreaking, research-driven clinical solutions that integrate mind, body and spirit in the defeat of illness and disease. The role you’ll contribute: Evaluates, develops an appropriate plan of care, and treats patients who present with bodily impairments and functional limitations as medically prescribed.
The value you’ll bring to the team: •Assesses patient ability to perform independent activities of daily living skills safely and effectively •Documents and charges accurately, completely, and timely using measurable and objective terminology, following standards of practice, insurance guidelines and department/hospital policies and procedures •Designs and implements a treatment plan of care utilizing practice standards and recommended techniques and modalities, insurance guidelines, and patient’s needs. Monitors patient’s response and progress to treatment and modifies treatment plans appropriate •Provides discharge planning assistance and information regarding appropriate selection/use of adaptive equipment and follow up services •Communicates appropriately and effectively with patients, family and healthcare professionals within and across care settings and communities •Oversees the care provided by certified occupational therapy assistants and rehabilitation therapy aide, according to established regulations and practice standards •Meets productivity standard as defined by department •Attends department meetings and education as required •Practices principles of professional development and performance improvements by maintaining clinical knowledge, using best and or evidence-based practices, and serving as a Clinical instructor •Educates patients, family members, and caregivers about identified needs •May assist as required to market occupational therapy program in the hospital and community •Willingly adjust and adapt to changes in patient census by altering working hours to assist in other centers, programs as needed, approved, and observed by manager •Performs other duties as assigned. Qualifications The expertise and experiences you’ll need to succeed: LICENSURE, CERTIFICATION OR REGISTRATION REQUIRED: •Basic Life Support (BLS) certification must be obtained before employee starts patient care •Licensed in applicable state as a Physical Therapist OR Temporary State permit as Physical Therapist This facility is an equal opportunity employer and complies with federal, state and local anti-discrimination laws, regulations and ordinances.
