Job Summary: The Program Assistant for the AHA Training Center functions as an instructor, facilitator, coordinator, and mentor of BLS American Heart Association & ECC programs. This individual focuses on cognitive and psychomotor competencies, didactic education, development of new instructors, and solutions to problems of performance. The incumbent into this position will support the mission, vision, values, and strategic initiatives of Mary Washington Healthcare and must demonstrate a commitment to quality. Essential Functions & Responsibilities: Answers the AHA Training Center screening calls, responds to routine questions, and takes messages as needed. Coordinates and implements educational activities within the AHA Training Center for all of Mary Washington Healthcare to include written and skills testing where applicable. Serves as a coordinator of all basic life support classes at a corporate level and ensures cost effective utilization of resources and time management. Participates in activities that define and/or promote the consistent application of standards/policies within Mary Washington Healthcare. Updates all training records in Workday, compiles and sends all mandatory reports in a timely manner.
Maintains a system by which all invoicing is completed, submits all purchase requisitions, reconciles all monies recorded by the training center weekly, submits all instructor pay sheets and requests, and provide budget report monthly. Maintains a database for all AHA Training files, reports, and correspondence. Maintains stock of all training materials, office supplies, and training equipment and accessories. Provides courteous and effective service to all customers to give assistance, answer questions and facilitate effective AHA Training Center operations. Assumes accountability for own professional development and job proficiency. Performs other duties as assigned. Qualifications: High school diploma or equivalent, required. Associates Degree preferred. BLS instructor required, will have 6 months to obtain. Demonstrates proficiency in current personal computer applications: (Word, Excel, Publisher, Adobe Illustrator, etc) to complete assigned tasks with minimal or no supervision.
Strong interpersonal and customer service skills required. Demonstrated superior organizational and multitasking skills. Experience working independently and the ability to make judgment decisions while working within a team.
