A Postdoctoral Research Fellow training position is available to study the molecular mechanisms underlying prostate cancer treatment resistance and the development of new therapeutics. The training will be mentored by Dr. Michael Haffner and members of his research group. Our laboratory is a dynamic and diverse research environment, bringing together scientists with a wide range of expertise in epigenetics, biochemistry, bioinformatics, pharmacology, and pathology. Responsibilities We are seeking a highly motivated post-doctoral fellow to join our team and conduct laboratory-based research on resistance mechanisms to current therapeutics used for treating advanced prostate cancer. The position is centered on delineating the molecular mechanisms that drive treatment resistance, with a particular focus on cell intrinsic epigenetic and genomic events. Our goal is to investigate new clinical approaches that can overcome therapy resistance, and ultimately, provide better treatment options. This research has direct clinical relevance, making it a highly impactful and rewarding opportunity for the successful candidate. Qualifications We are seeking a highly qualified candidate for a research position requiring a Ph. D. degree in biology, biochemistry, genetics, molecular biology, cell biology, immunology, or a related field. Candidates should have experience in at least one of the following areas: medicine/urology, genomics/genetics, analysis of inflammation/immune composition, or biomarker characterization.
M. Ds with prior research experience are also encouraged to apply. Expertise and skills in molecular biology techniques are desired, including but not limited to: genomic and epigenomic profiling techniques, immunohistochemistry, ELISA, cell culture, and drug toxicity assays. We are looking for individuals who are highly motivated and organized, with the ability to think independently while also enjoying working as part of a dynamic, collaborative, and multidisciplinary team. Excellent verbal and written communication skills are a must, as the successful candidate will be expected to communicate effectively with colleagues and present research findings to diverse audiences. The annual base salary range for this position is from $65,484 to $100,000 and pay offered will be based on experience and qualifications.
