The mission of our NIAID T32 Infectious Disease in the Immunocompromised Host Training Grant (6T32AI118690) and training program is to recruit and train outstanding physician-scientists and postdoctoral PhD scientists to perform basic, translational and clinical research on infectious diseases in immunocompromised patients, using state-of-the-art methods and analytical techniques. The Boeckh Lab is recruiting an individual to work on research focused on infections in transplant and other immunosuppressed individuals. The individual will work on projects aimed at assessing immunity against respiratory and latent viruses in an applied research setting. For more information on the program, please visit our website: https://www. fredhutch. org/en/research/divisions/vaccine-infectious-disease-division/research/infectious-disease-sciences/training. html Responsibilities The successful applicant will work on research in the Boeckh lab focused on characterizing virus-specific cellular and humoral immunity and its association with clinical outcomes in persons with varying degrees of immunosuppression and otherwise healthy individuals. Opportunities exist for grant writing, writing of and contributing to manuscripts as co- or lead author and presenting research at scientific meetings.

The individual will also have opportunities to mentor technicians and undergraduate students in a lab that values diversity. The Fred Hutchinson Cancer Center provides a challenging academic and supportive multi-disciplinary research environment and the fellow will be able to take full advantage of training, education, and mentorship opportunities offered through the Center. Qualifications Eligibility: The candidate must be a citizen of the United States, or a non-citizen national, or must have been lawfully admitted for permanent residence and possess an Alien Registration Receipt Card (1-151 or 1-551) or some other verification of legal admission as a permanent resident. Seeking a candidate with a Ph. D. in the field of biological sciences or related scientific fields. Experience and laboratory skills in viral immunity, including antibody detection assays, flow cytometry, sequencing, transcriptomics and associated analytics are preferred. The candidate should be a self-starter and be able to work independently in a team environment. Strong analytical, writing, communication (in English), and problem-solving skills are desired. Extensive efforts are made to identity and attempt to recruit underrepresented minority trainees.

The annual base salary range for this position is from $65,484. 00 to $100,000. 00 and pay offered will be based on experience and qualifications.
