Position: Community Health and Nutrition Administrator (CHNA)

Schedule: Full-time some evenings and/or weekends to accommodate program participants
Reporting Relationship: Directly: Director of Programs and Operations Indirectly: Corps Commanding Officer
Salary/Grade: 12 E
Description of Position: The CHNA will oversee all community health and nutrition at The Salvation Army Harrisburg. The CHNA will oversee and assist with developing nutrition, health, and senior programming. The CHNA will also oversee the Choice Food Pantry operations to include boxed meals and other seasonal food distributions. The CHNA will supervise the Food Pantry Coordinator, Warehouse Coordinator, the Senior Program Coordinator, the Community Health and Nutrition Educators, dietetic interns and volunteers and will indirectly supervise the part-time and seasonal nutrition educators. The CHNA will represent TSA in the community, join local food task forces/committees and will develop new and enhance existing partnerships to improve health outcomes of the Harrisburg community. The CHNA will oversee all data collection and prepare reports and presentations regarding program impact for TSA, donors and annual reports. The CHNA will manage all aspects of the SNAP Ed grant and other assigned grants specific to the CHN department. Other duties as assigned. This is a full-time, exempt position. Requirements:
Registered Dietitian licensed to practice in the state of Pennsylvania.
Bachelor’s degree in nutrition and dietetics or related field
Two years of experience working in community health and nutrition environments
Prior supervisory experience preferred.
Current experience working with diverse, urban populations.
Strong problem-solving skills with good judgment
Detail oriented, flexible, and able to work with minimal supervision.
Ability to use materials and finances resourcefully in a non-profit environment.
Ability to enforce The Salvation Army policies and expectations.
