Durham, North Carolina,   Primary Role: To manage and oversee the ongoing daily, monthly, and fiscal operations of Duke Health Technology Solutions (DHTS). This includes management of the fiscal operational budget cycle, analysis of the monthly departmental budget to actual expense results, and development and review of the monthly consolidated financial statements in order to advise Sr. management regarding changes in operational and capital needs to meet business requirements.   Essential tasks/responsibilities Managing the DHTS financial operations activities and the related staff responsible:   Manage the annual budgeting process to include: Management of the consolidated financial modeling tool (Apptio IT Financial tool) Financial target management FTE labor crosswalk Annual capital budget planning Review of the entity service allocations.   Manage the month-end closing process to include: Review and approve journal entries and deferral and accrual schedules Review financial results with IT Service Owners Review and prepare monthly financial reporting package for Senior Leadership Year-end forecasting and Year-end closing process and Ensure proper charging of operating expenditures in accordance with organization goals.   Manage the capital management process to include: Facilitate the annual capital submissions and review project reviews with Sr. leadership Review and audit all capital purchase requests and submit to Corporate Ensure the appropriate capital budget fund is being used ( $1M)   Other areas of oversight Oversee the vendor purchase request, accounts payable, corporate card, and contracts management processes to ensure accurate and timely financial reporting. Demonstrate capability to comfortably interact with Senior Leadership, Directors, Managers and appropriate personnel on a regular basis. Assist in formulating and refining short and long-term financial goals for each through consultation with departmental Associates, Directors, and administrative staff. Perform other related duties incidental to the work described herein   Minimum Qualifications Education BA/BS in Business or Accounting or related business field.

  MBA, MHA or Certified Public Accountant is preferred. Preferred – Master’s degree in Accounting, Finance, Business Administration, or related field   Experience This position requires three years or more of experience in financial accounting and reporting.    Preferred –  Six or more years of experience in a financial analyst/management role, financial reporting, cost accounting, accounts payable, and budgeting.     Management/Supervisory level experience; Experience in Health Care and/or Information Systems, Advanced MS Excel, SAP, or other Financial Systems; Advanced knowledge of asset capitalization and capital expenditures; Contract management and project management experience a plus.     Special competencies/credentials  Advanced MS Excel skills; Strong analytical, organizational, verbal, and written communication skills; Must be able to multi-task, manage time and projects well, and have the ability to work independently as a team member.   Strong customer relations and interpersonal skills       Duke is an Affirmative Action/Equal Opportunity Employer committed to providing employment opportunity without regard to an individual’s age, color, disability, gender, gender expression, gender identity, genetic information, national origin, race, religion, sex, sexual orientation, or veteran status.   Duke aspires to create a community built on collaboration, innovation, creativity, and belonging.
