About the Role: Job Summary Serves the organization, patients, and other customers by providing a wide range of computer related technical services. As a member of the Technical Services Team, the position is responsible for architecture and the management of organizational infrastructure in the wired/wireless environment. Provides management oversight and mentorship to network, telecommunications and Audio-Visual engineers responsible for maintaining the wired and wireless infrastructure, network security and load balancing, and network addressing. Leads and conducts research on emerging technologies and recommends technologies that increase infrastructure flexibility and resiliency. Knowledge of managing, maintaining, and troubleshooting leading network hardware from vendors such as Juniper, Avaya, Microsoft Teams, Cisco, Checkpoint, F5, Infoblox, and Aruba. Strong knowledge of the OSI model to understand issues from physical to application layer. Disaster recovery planning and testing for highly available infrastructure. Experience with managing complex projects required. Minimum Job Qualifications Licensure or other certifications: Educational Requirements: Bachelors Degree Minimum Experience: Two (2) years related management experience required or four (4) years as senior level analyst.
At least four (4) years of previous healthcare information systems experience required. Conducts annual performance evaluations, implementing progressive disciplinary actions (where appropriate), and hiring of new staff. Manages team’s support activities which include problem identification, analysis and resolution including functions of triage, work assignment to team members, internal and external communications and escalation. Monitors performance metrics for areas of responsibility and partners with appropriate leadership to assure that metrics outcomes data is shared, consolidated and mitigated collaboratively as appropriate. Defines IT standard work collaboratively with other IT leaders and ultimately enforces the standard work for their areas of responsibility. Manages implementation/maintenance standard processes to achieve optimum service delivery, systems, and processes while setting high performance objectives for the department. Holds self and others accountable to meet stated objectives, outcomes, goals, timetables and commitments, adhering to agreed upon standards. Ensures accurate, well-defined inventory and network map is maintained for the entire NGHS organization, including connections to outside entities.
Prioritizes operational projects/system changes based on careful analysis of current processes working with other operational leaders. Synthesizes all available information to make informed decisions. Fosters creativity, innovation and divergent thinking in self and others. Manages complex situations using multiple sources of information and advice. Manages relationships for network vendors providing products and services to NGHS, including resource management, timely delivery of services and/or product, issues resolution, and expense management. Ensures network & telecommunications monitoring applications are in-place, current, and providing value to the organization. Participates in root cause analysis sessions to identify operational improvements. Works with team members and vendors to research new and emerging technologies to ensure NGHS is leveraging appropriate technology in the most efficient and cost-effective manner possible. Consults with project teams to determine network requirements and translate into well-defined project documents. Develops relationships with and actively participates in the Manager/TL group within the Information Technology division.
Manages projects and multiple analysts to ensure projects meet their objectives. And are completed on time and within budget. Provides input into NGHS Information Technology processes, cyber security, network security, procedures, and policies, such as HIPAA, HITECH, HITRUST, etc. , Provides input into NGHS strategic plan and annual IT budget, as well as assists with departmental spending with leadership peers to ensure expenditures are within budget. Identifies opportunities in current systems and workflows to improve functionality and efficiency. Participates in an on-call rotation.
