Job Description

Memorial Sloan Kettering Cancer Center

New York, New York, Pay Range $55,439 – $85,402 Company Overview The people of Memorial Sloan Kettering Cancer Center (MSK) are united by a singular mission: ending cancer for life. Our specialized care teams provide personalized, compassionate, expert care to patients of all ages. Informed by basic research done at our Sloan Kettering Institute, scientists across MSK collaborate to conduct innovative translational and clinical research that is driving a revolution in our understanding of cancer as a disease and improving the ability to prevent, diagnose, and treat it. MSK is dedicated to training the next generation of scientists and clinicians, who go on to pursue our mission at MSK and around the globe. One of the world’s most respected comprehensive centers devoted exclusively to cancer, we have been recognized as one of the top two cancer hospitals in the country by U. S. News & World Report for more than 30 years. In compliance with applicable State regulatory authorities, COVID-19 vaccination is mandatory for all MSK staff. Staff are considered fully vaccinated upon completion of a primary vaccination series for COVID-19 (i. e.

, one dose of a single dose vaccine or a final dose of a multi-dose vaccine series). Exceptions from the COVID-19 vaccine requirement are permitted for those who request and receive an approved medical or fully remote exemption. Requests for medical exemption can take up to two weeks to review. Vaccination or an approved medical exemption is required to start work. Note: Individuals are eligible to receive a COVID-19 booster two months after completion of a primary vaccination series for COVID-19. Because vaccine-induced immunity can wane over time, MSK continues to strongly urge all staff to get a COVID-19 booster as soon as they become eligible to maintain their protective immunity for a longer period. Job Description The Experimental Pathology Service is led by internationally recognized expert in breast cancer genomics and bioinformatics, Dr. Jorge Reis-Filho. The Reis-Filho Laboratory applies a combination of cutting-edge pathology tools, genomics methods and single cell sequencing approaches to understand the biological basis and clinical impact of intra-tumor heterogeneity, and to discover and validate novel biomarkers to guide the therapy of cancer patients on the basis of specific DNA repair defects. The Reis-Filho Laboratory is seeking a highly motivated individual to join our multidisciplinary team.

We are looking for highly motivated postdoctoral fellows with great communication skills and a collaborative spirit. For these positions, applicants should have experience in working with in vitro cell line and organoid models of breast cancer, as well as knowledge of bioinformatics approaches for the analysis of single cell sequencing. In this role, the postdoctoral fellow would be expected to work independently and as part of a team, collaborating with other researchers and analysts to advance the research on the Reis-Filho Laboratory. They should be able to communicate their findings effectively, both orally and in writing, and be able to present their work at scientific conferences and meetings. A PhD in a related field, such as molecular biology, computational biology, bioinformatics or biomedical sciences, is required. Significant experience in breast cancer biology and genomic technology is highly desired. Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, as well as attention to detail, are also important. The laboratory offers a multidisciplinary and vibrant environment, with molecular biologists, pathologists, clinicians, bioinformaticians and computer scientists working together to address fundamental questions in cancer evolution and DNA repair by utilizing a variety of different techniques. The ideal candidate should have: PhD or equivalent in molecular biology, computational biology, bioinformatics or biomedical sciences Experience in working with in vitro cell line and organoid models Experience with single cell sequencing analysis If you have any questions about this job opportunity, please contact: Jeannie Lee LeeJ20@mskcc. org Salary: $55,439 – $85,402 Physician compensation is based on multiple variables.

This range represents annual salary only and does not include supplemental performance-based pay or any one-time payments that eligible candidates may be offered at the time of hire.
