VA Northern California Health Care System is looking for a Physician – Chief of Primary Care Services to join our team. The Physician – Chief of Primary Care Services will be assigned to the Sacramento (Mather) Medical Facility and reports to the Chief of Staff. The Chief, Primary Care, directly supervises Primary Care Service Leadership and Primary Care Providers, as well as the Assistant Chief, Primary Care Services. In this role you will have full oversight for quality of care in the department, ensuring operational aspects of the department are meeting patient needs, having responsibility for meeting performance improvement requirements from the Department of Veteran Affairs and the Joint Commission and have responsibility for the safety and education programs within the department. The incumbent will also have responsibility for department hiring, physician coverage, performance related activities of staff within the department and may have input on the performance of others. This incumbent may also participate in various medical center committees.

Candidate Requirements:
1) US Citizen
2) Current, full and unrestricted license to practice medicine or surgery in the US
3) Degree of doctor in medicine or an equivalent degree resulting from a course of education in medicine or osteopathic medicine.
4) Must have completed residency training and board eligible
5) Must complete vaccination for seasonal influenza and Coronavirus Disease 2019 (COVID-19) which are both requirements for all Health Care Personnel (HCP) employed by Department of Veterans Affairs.

Salary
$200,000 – $280,000 per year
