The VA Maryland Health Care System is looking for a Psychiatrist to cover the inpatient psychiatric unit (11 beds) and the consultation liaison service on weekends. The tour of duty consists of 10 hours of on-site coverage Saturday and Sunday. The shifts start at 8am and end at 630pm (8 hours with 30 min for lunch). And best of all there is NO ADDITIONAL ON-CALL. This half-time (20 hours) position offers a unique opportunity to balance work and home. The comprehensive compensation package includes Federal Benefits, prorated for half time. If desired the position could be expanded to full time through the assignment of additional duties.
Duties:

Working up admissions
Rounding on psychiatric inpatients
Completing new consults
Rounding on consult patients when necessary
Providing consultation to the mental health clinician working in the Emergency Department
