SPARKS, Nevada, Responsibilities This Wound Care Nurse Coordinator opportunity is full time @ 40 hours per week, offers full benefits and a convenient day shift schedule.     Northern Nevada Health System is a regional multi-facility system that has excelled at offering quality care to residents of the greater Truckee Meadows. We have many locations across the region and in our rural communities. Northern Nevada Medical Center, a 124-bed acute care hospital in Sparks, is our flagship provider. A second hospital, Sierra Medical Center, is currently under construction and is scheduled to open in 2022. Sierra Medical Center will be the first full-service hospital built in the region in over a century.   We also provide primary care services and a wide range of specialty care through Northern Nevada Medical Group. 352. 5309.   Wound Care Nurse Coordinator Job Summary: Coordinates treatment to provide comprehensive wound assessments and plan of care including goals, implementation of treatment, evaluation and outcomes for patients throughout the organization.   Provides patient, family and staff education regarding wound management, prevention of pressure ulcers, support surfaces, dressing selections and other therapies.   Is a resource person for physicians, wound team and clinical staff.   Additionally is able to perform general nursing duties in all departments with adequate supervision.   Participates in performance improvement plan of the organization.   As a clinical certified wound RN and educator, they are responsible for developing, conducting and evaluating in-service programs, orientation and continuing education for nursing staff, students and other staff in clinical areas.   Develops educational policies and procedures. Serves as a resource person to staff and management.

com Qualifications Graduate of accredited school of nursing; Bachelor’s of Science in Nursing (BSN). Current state Registered Nurse Licensure. Minimum of two (2) years experience in medical/surgical, rehabilitation nursing. Certified Wound, Ostomy and Continence Nurse (CWOCN) or Certified Wound Care Nurse (CWCN) preferred but not required. Current BCLS certification.
