About the Role: Job Summary Responsible for management of all construction projects, including monitoring critical milestones, finance tracking, vendor oversight, equipment procurement and compliance with policies and regulations . Works closely with all members of the project teams including architects, project management, municipalities, strategic sourcing, IT, vendors and senior leadership. Leadership responsibility for System Construction, Plant Operations, and Security Services. Provides leadership to team that directs, controls and coordinates construction activities through professional consultation with Clinical and Non-Clinical Leaders across NGHS entities. Recommends, implements and ensures compliance with construction related policies and procedures of NGHS. Functions as the liaison between system Sr. Management and entity / site leadership on construction related projects. In order to be considered you must have significant experience in large, ground-up healthcare facility construction, tenant improvement, expansions and remodels of hospitals. Plans, develops, and executes a system-wide vision for plant operations and security departments, which results in improved operating cost, consistent and effective service delivery, operational and excellence, safe environments, and high customer and staff satisfaction.
Ensures that all facility operations are effective, efficient, reliable, and in compliance with applicable regulatory and accrediting agencies. Minimum Job Qualifications Licensure or other certifications: Valid Driver’s License. Preferred Certifications/Memberships: CHC or ASHE certified, Certified Construction Manager (CCM), AGC/ABC membership, LEED AP, OSHA 30 Hour Educational Requirements: Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Construction Management or a related field. Minimum Experience: 3-5 years of progressively responsible Managerial Experience in Healthcare. Minimum 5 years of experience in healthcare construction and on-site experience in the management of new construction and the renovation of existing assets or 10 or more years of experience leading healthcare construction, real estate or facilities management Demonstrated experience managing facilities in a complex, multi-site healthcare organization Previous experience leading construction and facility master planning in a healthcare setting Other: Preferred Job Qualifications Preferred Licensure or other certifications: Preferred Educational Requirements: Masters Degree. Preferred Experience: Other: Job Specific and Unique Knowledge, Skills and Abilities Ability to manage construction and renovations projects from ideas to the complete development, design and construction process, including working with front end users, issuing RFPs, contract negotiation with vendors/designers, and project management systems. Extensive knowledge of Healthcare Industry Construction and Facilities regulations. Extensive knowledge of Healthcare Facilities Environment of Care and Safety regulations and facility maintenance requirements. Extensive knowledge of current applicable construction and healthcare code requirements such as NFPA, OSHA, FGI and International Building Codes, etc. , certifications preferred.
Extensive knowledge of OSHA regulations, DNV/Joint Commission standards, and other applicable rules and regulations Extensive knowledge of the principles, theories and practices of facility operations and management; design and construction management; contract terms and negotiations; and applicable laws, rules and regulations Excellent project management, financial analysis, and strategic planning skills required, as well as effective communication, organization, and interpersonal skills. Ability to organize, prioritize and utilize effective time management techniques. Must be able to manage large number of projects simultaneously via oversight of project managers and use of IT systems. Strategic thinker who displays sound judgment. General knowledge of healthcare Security and Emergency Preparedness operations and regulations. Essential Tasks and Responsibilities Ensures compliance of all responsible areas with internal policies and procedures, and all regulatory agency requirements and standards affecting the operations of all NGHS facilities Builds capabilities within direct reports and leadership team by coaching developing, evaluating and mentoring team members. Supports and encourages professional development through participation in educational programs and professional organizations and activities to maintain knowledge of national trends and to promote leading edge performance. Leads and reinforces a culture of service within all areas of responsibility, annually developing and achieving service goals and targets. Serves on appropriate medical, technology, and Board committees and provides appropriate reporting to same. Develops and monitors annual operating budget, fiscal accountability, multidisciplinary collaborative practices, and goal setting process Ensures optimum utilization of staffing resources with focus on achieving productivity goals.
Works with NGMC Directors (direct reports) to allocate staffing resources according to workloads and volumes, to include shifting of assignments between campuses and locations as needed. Completes special assignments as delegated by the President of NGMC Braselton and inform President as appropriate of the activities, plans, progress and/or problems and proposed solutions related to construction, real estate and facilities issues and support departments within your span of control. Ensures appropriate contracts and vendor engagement practices are used by Directors within reporting structure. Leads and is accountable for system wide performance of Facilities Development (including Construction) and Plant Operations Leads and is accountable for system wide delivery and performance of Security Services, including Emergency Management and Parking. Leads and is accountable for system wide delivery and performance of Facilities, Plant Operations, and Environment of Care Compliance, including disaster preparedness.
