Summit/NJ/USA, Overview Atlantic Health System is seeking a full-time HVAC Mechanic II for the Engineering department at Overlook Medical Center. Responsibilities Essential Functions/Responsibilities: Performs duties as needed and directed by Supervisor/Manager. Assist with special projects as assigned Basic knowledge of building controls (electronic & pneumatic) Basic knowledge of control valves Performs preventative maintenance on ice machines, refrigerators, split units, condensers, air handlers, chillers, cooling towers, pumps, exhaust fans and PTAC units. Possesses understanding and skills related to indoor air quality. Possesses an understanding of blueprints, diagrams and schematics. Performs repairs independently on air scrubbers and portable HEPA units. Ability to troubleshoot and perform basic repairs on thermostats. Ability to respond and quickly mitigate HVAC related leaks, and any other building related leads, in order to minimize damage and interruption to patient care. Ability to make repairs to ductwork, air registers, dampers and thermostats. Knowledge of all types of HVAC equipment.

Possesses understanding of the daily operations of the department supported. (hospital, clinic, off-site locations, etc. ) Possesses understanding of local and state construction codes, the Joint Commission, NFPA, and other regulatory agency standards. Ensures service completed and documentation of assigned work orders is accurate and completed in a timely manner. Ability to troubleshoot and repair refrigeration systems.
