The Children’s Hospital of Richmond at VCU is home to a nationally renowned cystic fibrosis center with outcomes that ranks among the best in the nation as well the UCAN asthma clinic, which offers treatment to children with severe asthma as well as educational support to families. The division of pulmonary medicine houses a three-year fellowship program and boasts of a history of incredible ground-breaking research.
Opportunity Highlights:
Comprehensive institutional support for the growth and evolution of the sleep program.
Benefit from a multi-disciplinary approach to pediatric sleep medicine includes physicians with expertise in developmental pediatrics and pediatric complex care and excellent collaborations with ENT and pediatric neurology.
Outstanding mentorship provided by national thought leaders in their fields of expertise: Michael S. Schechter, MD, MPH, in Asthma, Cystic Fibrosis and sociodemographic influences and treatment variation on disease outcomes, Judy Voynow, MD, in Cystic Fibrosis and Bruce Rubin Bruce Rubin, MD, in therapies to address airway inflammation and other outstanding members of the division.
Practice in new state-of-the-art children’s hospital including a certified pediatric sleep lab, constructed in 2022 with state-of-the-art facilities and equipment.
Support for the future creation of a Sleep Medicine Fellowship.
The pulmonary division at VCU is a market leader in pulmonary and sleep medicine, with opportunities to pursue interests in both.
