Wilmington, Delaware, Nemours is seeking a Data Analyst/Financial Performance Manager to join our Nemours Children’s Health Team in Wilmington, DE. The Department of Orthopedics is hiring a Data/Financial Performance Manager to assist the Department in achieving business growth and fiscal viability by meeting and exceeding budget and operational targets. This position is responsible for preparation of the operating and capital budgets and various statistical reports for the Department of Orthopedics. Duties include completing clinical productivity and financial performance analyses of new/existing contracts, programs, and services; acting as a collaborative resource and data and financial performance expert for the Department; driving sound decision making through continuous fiscal monitoring and analysis of key performance indicators; monitoring and collaborating with corporate accounting on monthly financial close activities; and monthly reporting of financial and productivity data. The Financial Performance Manager will collect and analyze data using standard statistical methods, interpret the results, make recommendations, and provide written summaries, reports, and presentations and must possess and consistently demonstrate strong analytical skills. Essential Functions: Responsible for monitoring, pulling, and analyzing financial and clinical performance data, and preparing reports. In cooperation with Department’s leadership, developing and monitoring operational and capital budgets, including revenue and expenses. Ensuring opportunities for revenue generation and enhancement are identified and investigated for potential implementation. Working collaboratively with billing staff and patient financial services to assure a customer/patient focused process. Preparing monthly variance reports for the Department of Orthopedics to address both the cause and potential resolution of identified variances.
Creating, submitting and disseminating various monthly data/statistical reports and developing presentations for leadership. Conducting cost analyses for specific programs, procedures, or activity as necessary or requested. As requested and/or appropriate, meeting with Department personnel to review financial results and objectives. Ensuring implementation of standard procedures relating to expense reimbursements for meals, travel, dues, subscriptions, etc. and other policies as appropriate. Performing special projects as identified by Department leadership. Performing other duties as assigned Requirements: Bachelor’s degree required. A BA/BS in Business, Mathematics, Economics, or Computer Science is preferred. Three to five years professional experience is the standard qualification for this position, but will consider other candidates based on education/experience. Healthcare experience in a mid-level data/accounting/finance role is preferred, but not necessary.
