Saint Louis, Missouri, Additional Information About the Role Work hours will be 2:30 pm to 11:00 pm Tuesday through Saturday. Training will be Monday – Friday day shift for 3-4 months. Christian Hospital is noted for its excellence in heart services and lifesaving cardiothoracic surgery, emergency medicine, breast health services, orthopedic/spine surgery, hyperbaric wound care, pain management, vascular surgery, endocrinology, gastrointestinal care, stroke care, nephrology, therapy, radiology, urology, pulmonary care and treating sleep disorders. Northwest HealthCare, located six miles west of Christian Hospital, provides the community 24-hour emergency care, with Washington University Physicians and St. Louis Children’s Hospital providing pediatric services. Northwest HealthCare is also home to the Sleep Disorders Center and a variety of full-service outpatient diagnostic and imaging services in a convenient setting. The Plant Operations Department is responsible for all aspects of physical plant maintenance for Northwest HealthCare, including general Preferred Qualifications Role Purpose Provides the necessary skill for operation and maintenance of the physical plant systems in a manner to ensure safe operation, optimum performance, and maximum efficiency and all other duties as required. Provides the most difficult repairs and overhauls on any of the mechanical equipment in any facility in the system.
Responsibilities Keeps equipment clean and operational. Handles and disposes of hazardous and or infectious waste properly and practices infection control. Adheres to regulatory guidelines. Operates, repairs, troubleshoots, and maintains all physical plant equipment in compliance with all department procedures and policies, and all applicable compliance, safety, federal, state and local regulations. Completes all assigned critical and routine equipment preventative maintenance by utilizing approved procedures, department policies, and manufacturer. s specifications. Notifies appropriate leadership in the event of equipment malfunction, boiler casualty, or any other unforeseen event that negatively impact the operation of the boiler plant or the hospital steam system. Monitors elevators and determines if a repairman needs to be dispatched.
