Longview, Texas, Description Communications Operations Lead Reports to the Communication Center Director. Leads the 911 Communication Center’s CQI program through prospective, concurrent, and retrospective initiatives. Audits and evaluates employee performance to determine opportunities for individual improvements. Assures compliance with policies and procedures that correlate with the standards set by the International Academies of Emergency Dispatch, the Medical Priority Dispatch System (MPDS), the Commission on Accreditation of Medical Transport Systems (CAMTS), the National Association of Air Communication Specialists (NAACS) and departmental expectations within the CHRISTUS EMS System. The Communications Operations Lead coordinates all aspects of the Quality Improvement for both ground EMS and air-medical services, performs case reviews, system-wide clinical reviews, and other performance reviews as necessary. Will assist in training new Associates and ensure that all required training and certifications/licenses are current. The Communications Operations Lead must be well versed in all operational aspects of the Communication Center and be able to function as a stand-in Shift Supervisor if required directing all Ground EMS and Flight Operations. Education and/or Experience – High School Diploma or equivalent is required. EMD Certification is required. EMD Q Certification within 6 months of hire.
EMT-Basic or higher certification is preferred. Communication Center Manager (CCM) within three years of hire. Inherent leadership abilities, ability to communicate, direct and motivate subordinates. Strong customer service skills and ability to facilitate communication during intense on-demand patient care scenarios. Candidate must be able to create written reports on performance and present findings of the Quality Improvement program. 3-Years of EMS Communication Center experience, preferably in a system providing both ground EMS and air-medical services. Strong experience in CAD usage and System Status Management is preferred. Applicants will need an understanding of medical terminology, and functional understanding of communications equipment (telephone, radios, recording equipment, and computers). Candidates will need strong personnel development and staff management skills and have the ability to focus on fine detail with constant interruption. Full-Time
