Boise, Idaho, Overview St. Luke’s Health System in Boise, ID is seeking a Biomedical Equipment Tech 2 to join our Clinical Engineering team. Unit/Position Summary The Biomedical Equipment Technician 2, under moderate supervision, repair, calibrate, and maintain medical equipment, instrumentation, and support systems used in healthcare deliver. Responsibilities Repair, install, maintain, calibrate, and inspect a diverse range of therapeutic and diagnostic biomedical instrumentation and equipment. Perform preventive maintenance and electrical safety testing of clinical equipment, devices, and systems. Diagnose and correct system and equipment malfunctions. Tests the functionality of medical equipment making necessary operational adjustments. Maintain documentation of all service events, performance tests, and corrective maintenance. Provide technical assistance and instruction to personnel regarding equipment operations and maintenance. Provide emergency/unscheduled repairs and/or maintenance as needed.

Assist with and evaluate third-party repairs. May assist senior biomedical equipment technicians or supervisor with in-service educational programs on use of equipment. Understand and comply with Joint Commission and other applicable standards and regulations. Complies with appropriate safety practices and procedures and with applicable federal, State and local codes, regulations and requirements. May provide leadership, coaching, and/or mentoring to subordinate group. Performs tasks that reflect substantial variety and complexity. Handles moderately complex issues using knowledge of procedures and policies. Refers more complex issues to high-level staff. Possesses solid working knowledge of subject matter. Performs other duties and responsibilities as assigned.

Qualifications Education: Associate’s degree in Biomedical Equipment Technology, Department of Defense (DOD) Certification or 2 years relevant experience in lieu of degree.
