Houston, Texas, Job Summary Directs all aspects of Harris Health System Emergency Management programs, including development and implementation of the Emergency Operations Plan, interface with outside agencies, compliance with accreditation requirements including the National Fire Protection Association Standard on Disaster/Emergency Management, NIAHO Accreditation Requirements and Business Continuity Programs, National Incident Management System (NIMS), coordinates the allocation of grant funding through the Texas Department of State Health Services, and represents Harris Health System on external emergency management planning or response committees: including, Texas Medical Center, South East Texas Regional Advisory Council (SETRAC) , Harris County’s Office of Homeland Security & Emergency Management, and City of Houston Office of Emergency Management. Chairs the System’s Emergency Management Committee. Responsible for overseeing all emergency management training, drills and exercises. Facilitates the Harris Health Hazard Mitigation and Business Continuity Plan. Minimum Qualifications Degrees / Work Experience / School Education: Bachelor’s Degree in Emergency Management, Safety, Business Administration or related field (And) Seven 7 Years Work Experience in healthcare industry Master’s Degree – Preferred Management Experience: Five (5) years experience managing preparation for and response to healthcare emergency incidents or program/project management Communication Skills: Above Average Verbal (Heavy Public Contact), Writing/Correspondence, Writing/Reports Proficiencies: MS Excel, MS Word, P. C. , Job Attributes Knowledge/Skills/Abilities: Analytical, Mathematics, Medical Terminology, Research, Statistical Work Schedule: Flexible Other Requirements: Travel between Harris Health System facilities, Advanced knowledge in EM Resource and related applications Equipment Operated: PCs equipment, Printer, Terminals
