Washington, D.C., Responsible for APHA headquarters building and overseeing daily operation of the Office Services department. Oversee the maintenance and the renovation of physical property and directs office activities such as supply purchasing, property management, reception, and mailroom. Oversee management of all systems related to the Association’s building, including HVAC, MEP, and security, as well as serves as liaison for building’s tenants. Establish process and procedures to ensure the effective and efficient operations of Office Services unit, including developing schedules and work plans. Prepare the unit’s annual budget request and administers approved budget. Responsible for Association required reporting and records management, including those required by the District of Columbia government. Administer telephone system, including voicemail, video conferencing, and interacting with communication system vendors. Monitor development of Office Services unit through regular performance reviews. Administer the procurement system, maintaining the central file and asset inventory system for all purchases incurred by APHA and negotiates with vendors. Review agreements with vendors regularly to assess pricing and service improvements. Coordinate competitive bids as appropriate. The position will supervise the Building Maintenance Engineer, Office Services Assistant and Receptionist positions. Perform other related professional duties as assigned. Four-year college or university with specialization in business, Facility Management Certification or related field, or related field required. Minimum 5-7 years progressively responsible experience in facilities management, with three years in supervisory capacity. Strong interpersonal skills and demonstrated ability to work collaboratively with cross-functional teams. Ability to communicate clearly, orally and in writing. Strong Customer Service orientation. Knowledge of current and emerging trends in Office Services, building equipment maintenance and building state laws. Required to work offsite 10 days per year at meetings. Must be able to work occasional evening and weekend work as job duties or projects require it. Must be willing to work overtime, including weekends and travel to staff APHA related meetings as needed. Hours: 35 hours a week, full-time, Monday – Friday (daytime). Number of openings: 1.
