This is a 50%FTE contract position for 12 month. Cal Performances presents and produces outstanding artists from the Bay Area, the United States, and around the world in performances and community programs which promote excellence, innovation, diversity, education, and community involvement, with the fundamental belief that the arts are vital to our society locally, nationally, and internationally. Application Review Date The First Review Date for this job is: July 20, 2023 Responsibilities Job Summary The incumbent will provide support to the Associate Director of Marketing by performing various complex administrative tasks and marketing initiatives. The ideal candidate will have worked in an office environment utilizing Google Sheets and Google Docs, has a sharp eye for detail, excellent written and verbal communication skills. Understanding of and passion for the performing arts preferred.
Manage marketing plans and schedules Updating and maintaining marketing plans and advertising schedules; Corresponding with agents to establish point of contact, request marketing materials for season brochure production, and follow ups as necessary Tracking collateral collection and maintaining files for season marketing collateral Track sales and expenses Updating weekly sales report in Google Sheets; Tracking marketing campaign expenses; Preparing expenditure request forms (ERFs) for advertising purchases and other misc. marketing expenses; Management marketing ads and materials Proofreading ads and other marketing materials; Opening creative job orders; Drafting ad copy for print, radio, and e-newsletters (for radio partners) Uploading or sending digital ads to various advertising partners Provide assistance with grassroots marketing initiatives Drafting and deploying targeted email campaigns and executing e-marketing campaigns; Maintaining the lobby and stage door brochure racks; Maintaining grassroots email list of campus and community organizations Coordinating brochure deliveries with stage door (venue operations coordinator) Managing poster schedule and coordinating poster change-outs Managing Student Union screen advertising Outreach to campus partners, including meetings and strategies for working together Perform other administrative duties as needed for various marketing projects. Required Qualifications Bachelor’s degree in related area and/or equivalent experience/training Solid knowledge of marketing principles, concepts, strategies and best practices. Proficiency in Google Sheets and Google Docs (Excel and MS Word) Familiarity with Adobe Creative Suite Accuracy and careful attention to detail Must be organized and efficient with excellent time management skills Excellent written and verbal communication skills, including excellent grammar, proofreading, and creative writing skills Enjoys researching a topic and problem solving Eagerness to learn, including having curiosity, not being afraid to ask questions, and is unafraid to take initiative Strong ability to work independently and as part of a team Preferred Qualifications An interest in the performing arts and/or marketing or a related field preferred. Under California law, the University of California, Berkeley is required to provide a reasonable estimate of the compensation range for this role and should not offer a salary outside of the range posted in this job announcement. This range takes into account the wide range of factors that are considered in making compensation decisions including but not limited to experience, skills, knowledge, abilities, education, licensure and certifications, analysis of internal equity, and other business and organizational needs. It is not typical for an individual to be offered a salary at or near the top of the range for a position. Salary offers are determined based on final candidate qualifications and experience. The budgeted hourly range that the University reasonably expects to pay for this position is $27.
