A ragtag group of heavy-hitting game developers seeking to augment our ability to self-organize.
You:
An empathic leader with high attention bandwidth who finds joy in building production machines powered by cats.
Must also like video games.
Question is seeking an internal Senior Producer to work remotely as a full time employee. You would be working remotely from home with competitive salaries and benefits for U.S. residents.
Our ideal candidate for this SENIOR position is someone who has shipped two or more games with experience throughout the development cycle from ideation to post-shipping support.
Requirements
EXPERIENCE

GEOGRAPHY

Must live within U.S. time zones from Pacific to Eastern time – We want office hours to overlap – Resumes that do not meet this requirement will not get a response

Responsibilities
-
Work with discipline leads to plan and prioritize the team’s work towards aligned goals
-
Potentially manage external partners, providing regular updates as needed
-
Manage efforts that fall outside the cracks of other disciplines, such as compliance, localization, or VO
-
There is a good chance that you will be an occasional data wrangler to gather the information you or others need to make decisions

Author and maintain milestone documentation for publishers

Capture meticulous meeting notes and make them accessible to the team as well as future you
-
Actively monitor the project’s health to make proactive decisions about next steps

Minimal QA
-
Everyone on the team writes bug reports as they see them, including you
-
Able to document test plans and incorporate feedback from engineers, artists, and designers
-
Able to gauge and relay the health of the project to the team based on bug report data

Preferred Skills / Attributes
FAMILIARITY WITH PRODUCTION TOOLS

Bug reporting tools, such as JIRA

AUTONOMOUS ORGANIZER

Track several threads of effort in parallel without needing to be reminded of these ongoing efforts by stakeholders

Understand what is holistically important to the project and proactively engage in productive discussions about prioritization

Ask questions and reach out to team members as needed to gather the information you need to decide on next steps

Learn new things as needed (Custom Report Tools, Telemetry, etc.)
PATIENT COMMUNICATOR

Provide succinct and clear instructions or documentation for team members or external testers.

Create comprehensive notes from meetings/discussions that can be understood months from now

Explain large amounts of information clearly in writing and verbally to different audiences with different levels of expertise

Manage expectations to keep the team in the loop on what to expect and what not to stress about

Comfortable presenting game demos to external partners, at PR events, or in press interviews
About Question Games
Question is made up of ex-AAA developers whose past team credits include: Thief: Deadly Shadows, BioShock, BioShock 2, BioShock Infinite, Dishonored, South Park: The Stick of Truth, and South Park: Fractured But Whole. We draw on a long history of games with strong central narratives & diverse player-enabling systems with the goal of attempting to create new experiences in the same vein, but on a smaller scale.
Our goal, as a game studio, is to invest in people that will grow together as a team getting stronger with each successive project. Part of this is hiring T-shaped heavy hitters that can sustain a studio in this highly competitive market, and the other part is keeping these skilled employees happy with competitive salaries and benefits within an environment that nurtures autonomy, mastery, and purpose.
