Description: We’re looking for a Quality Assurance Lead. This opportunity is for a full-time position in either our Cambridge, MA or Chicago, IL studio, with the ability to work a hybrid schedule of work from home and in office time. This is an opportunity to build a QA department from scratch while still performing hands-on testing.
In your role, you will support our various internal teams’ development efforts, empowering them to deliver results that meet our and client quality standards. You will develop and execute test plans on Disbelief-produced ports and other milestone-based projects, hone reproduction cases for externally reported bugs, test internal projects, work on automated tests, manage contract and external QA, and otherwise support our dev teams with their testing needs.
The role will hire and develop testers to build out a QA team as the studio grows. You will interface with programmers, producers, artists, designers, and more both internally at Disbelief and externally with clients. You will have excellent communication skills and an ability to balance internal and client constraints vs. project needs.

Key Responsibilities:

Develop and execute test plans for Disbelief’s milestone-based projects

Test and track platform requirements for console submission and other platform submission processes

Work with internal devs to reproduce and refine externally reported bugs to accelerate progress fixing them

Design and execute automated testing solutions where appropriate

Manage and mentor future QA hires

Interface with client QA

Manage relationships with contract and external QA
Skills and Requirements:

5+ years of QA management experience
-
8+ years of testing experience

Console testing experience
-
Experience testing AAA projects

Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written

Experience working on at least one shipped commercial project from start to finish

Experience with JIRA and other bug tracking tools

Experience with automated testing

Strong time management skills

Relocation Assistance: Available where applicable
Remote: Hybrid. QA are in the office based on project needs, but can sometimes work from home. Some of our projects require access to physical infrastructure.
