Job Description

We are seeking a full time Graphic Design Specialist to provide support to the Joint Warfare Analysis Center in Dahlgren, VA. The Graphic Design Specialist designs and produces graphics and visual materials for print and digital media at various levels of detail and classification for a military audience. As a member of our team, you will provide support to a team of researchers and scientists in the creation, maintenance, analysis, interpretation, and presentation of Graphic Design data.

Essential Roles and Responsibilities:

As a Graphic Design specialist, you will perform on-site high-level computer graphic design activities to produce brochures, briefings, displays, visual analytic products, and other materials. This person is involved in all aspects of graphics/illustration projects from conceptualization and development to final presentation.

As a technical consultant, the Graphic Design Specialist will act on matters of design, composition, and methods of presenting technical data; uses a broad range of graphics production software and equipment. You will exercise creative judgment and originality by translating needs into graphics capabilities. This position utilizes current graphic design technology and computer software packages to produce and develop high-level graphics and miscellaneous media. In this role, you will create and execute design solutions and collateral used for marketing, analytic production, briefings, and other forms of communication.

The requirement may include but is not limited to the development of: line drawings, digital images, graphs, charts, slide presentations, animations, video stills/clips, and simulations.

Experience:

  •  4 years of graphic design experience is required
  • Knowledge of the military is preferred
  • In-depth knowledge and hands-on experience with some or all of the following software is required: Photoshop, Adobe Illustration Package, 3D Modeling, Animation, Web-Design and HTML, Authoring of Courseware, and Internet Sites
  • Familiarity with HTML and CSS
  • Experience with both print and digital media preferred
  • Excellent written, analytical, and verbal communication skills
  • Knowledge of color, composition, typography, digital design, and production management.

Education: Bachelor’s Degree or higher

Clearance: A Secret clearance is required. Top Secret or TS/SCI is preferred.

Location: This is an onsite position at the Joint Warfare Analysis Center located in Dahlgren, VA. * We can support remote work at the beginning of the contract. Relocation expenses provided
