Job Purpose

The role of the Academic Advisor I at Gonzaga University and in the Center for Student Academic Success is to provide students’ guidance to in identifying the optimal degree programs, meet degree requirements, navigate University policies and procedures, connect with relevant faculty and staff at GU, and achieve a meaningful and transformative educational experience. The Advisor I position works primarily advising GU students.

We will be recruiting for three headcount from this applicant pool.

  • Assists with courses recommendations and developing academic plans of study that aligns with the students’ goals.

  • Ability to demonstrate excellent written and verbal communication skills.

Desired Qualifications

  • Master’s degree.
  • Excellent communication skills including public speaking, relevant part- or full-time work experience in a higher education context.

Physical / Environmental Qualifications

  • Remain in a stationary position 70% of the time
  • Ability to prep for and attend meetings and events across campus in various weather conditions
  • Wrist and hand movement related to computer work
  • Bend, stoop, kneel, stretch and reach
