About This
Role:
The Center for Student Success and Engagement of the College of Arts & Sciences at Kansas State University has an opening
for an academic advisor. We seek dedicated student-centered individuals to help prepare students for success by connecting them with
educational experiences tailored to their specific goals and needs. The Center’s advising team supports both the interdisciplinary programs
housed in the College (humanities, life science, social science, physical science, medical lab science) as well as the University’s open
option (undeclared) program and general support for advising of academic programs across the College. The successful candidate will
demonstrate patience, enthusiasm, and a sincere desire to assist students with appropriate course selection and development of academic and
career goals while supporting student development in self-understanding and agency. It is expected that advisors will not only be committed
to the principles of diversity, equity and inclusion in order to build inclusive relationships with students and colleagues but that they
will possess extensive knowledge about the university academic programs, policies, procedures and student support services. Organizational
and communication skills, timeliness, cooperation and collaboration in a team environment are essential. Salary is commensurate with
experience.

What You’ll Need to Succeed:
Minimum
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in relevant field
- 1 year of related experience
Preferred
Qualifications:
- Master’s degree in relevant field
- 3-6 years’ advising related experience
- Strong
commitment to student success - Strong written and oral communication skills
- Excellent time management and organization
skills - Knowledge of NACADA Core Competencies and best practices in academic advising
- Understanding and knowledge of the
mission of the College of Arts & Sciences, its programs and the programs offered at Kansas State University - Familiarity or
experience with first-year students - Experience with student success tools such as SSC Navigate, familiarity with Microsoft Office
365.

Anticipated Hiring Pay Range:
$41,388 – $64,140/annual
