Salary: $18.00 – $23.00 per hour
This is a grant-funded position. Grant-funded positions expire either at the end of the stated term or whenever funding for the position ceases.

The College is looking for exceptional colleagues to join the MVCC community. We are currently seeking a part-time Educational Opportunity Program (EOP) Mentor in our Student Life division. The Educational Opportunity Program (EOP) Mentor provides motivation, accountability, and a process of engagement with the MVCC EOP Program and campus.
Key responsibilities for this position include:
- Provides program oversite to students who have been selected to participate in the Educational Opportunity Program;
- Schedules and maintains weekly meetings with the EOP students;
- Responsible for tracking attendance, student progress, student behaviors, or academic matters;
- Responsible for making referrals to the Opportunity Program Director and EOP Counselor;
- Maintains consistent communication with the EOP Program Student Mentors;
- Creates and facilitates study skills, time management, note taking, email etiquette and personal development workshops;
- Organizes, facilitates, and supervises academic and recreational activities;
- Oversees and tracks daily mandatory study time hosted in the Learning Commons and Campus Library;
- Performs other duties as assigned by the Director, Opportunity Programs related to EOP program targets, benchmarks, and activities.
The work schedule for this position will be based on the needs of the department and the availability of the applicant.
Qualifications:
- Associates degree or have completed 64 credit hours (unofficial transcripts required at time of application)
- Effective verbal and written communication skills
- Group management and leadership skills
- Computer proficient in Microsoft Office, PowerPoint, Excel, Word, and Outlook
