A.T. Still University’s Central Coast Physician Assistant Program (ATSU –
CCPA) is seeking a full-time Clinical Student Liaison on the Santa Maria, California campus. This position reports to the Clinical Education
Manager. The Clinical Student Liaison provides clerical and administrative support for the clinical students and clinical phase of the
program.
Duties & Responsibilities:
- Provides administrative support for clinical director and coordinators.
- Serves as a liaison between students, faculty and preceptors on a range of academic, administrative and/or personal issues as
required. - Tracks all credentialing requirements necessary for each rotation and student compliance.
- Maintains accurate and
organized rotation records for the students in a confidential manner ensuring ethical and legal guidelines are maintained. - Ensures
student compliance with policies regarding immunizations, health insurance, and up to date certifications prior to clinical placements. - Continuously monitors and supports CHC and hospital sites for both academic and administrative requirements.
- Assembles accurate
and complete student packets for onboarding CHC students prior to a rotation starting. - Maintains a positive working relationship
with hospitals, preceptor sites and CHC administrative staff. - Manages student evaluations and monitors minimum requirements to
assure successful completion of the clinical year. - Assigns and maintains accurate preceptor assignments for midpoint and final
evaluations. - Processes rotation check in and preceptor/site evaluations.
- Reports any red flags to the clinical team and
keep open positive communication with students. - Maintains monthly review of all active clinical affiliation agreements and
preceptors. - Works closely with the Clinical Team identifying and updating and uploading affiliation agreements and preceptor state
licenses and board certifications. - Proctoring End of Rotation clinical exam, make-up exams and any other administered testing on
campus. - Works with students, faculty, preceptors and rotation site support personnel in a professional manner to coordinate changes
and/or modification to rotations or schedules. - Schedules meetings with essential hospital coordinators as needed to ensure school
is doing everything possible to confirm smooth rotation entry. - Provides prompt and accurate feedback to Clinical Team regarding
concerns or successes with rotation or student evaluation of preceptor and/or clinical sites. - Assuring accurate entries into the
Learning and clinical management systems and providing reports as necessary. - Compiles and maintains preceptor files in the Clinical
Year Google Drive and/or other education management platform. - Supports department with interview day, white coat, graduation and
other special occasions. - Tracks and distributes CME letters to eligible preceptors.
- Assists clinical team with assignments
of student rotation schedule and monitoring weekly check-ins, patient logging, reporting, and student time logs. - Communicates with
students who do not meet the minimum requirements. - Assists with travel organization and reimbursements through university
platforms. - Other duties as assigned.
Education & Experience:
- High school plus one year technical training
or schooling. - One to two years experience in a business or academic office setting.
- Experience interacting with internal
and community affiliates. - Experience with clinical education a plus.
- Ability to interact with administration, faculty,
staff, students and general public in a professional manner. - Excellent problem-solving skills.
- Ability to organize and
prioritize workload in order to meet necessary deadlines. - Experience interacting with internal and community affiliates.
- Ability to follow and share information regarding university policy and procedures.
- Strong organizational skills.
- Ability to efficiently manage multiple detail-oriented projects and task simultaneously.
- Ability to read, analyze and interpret
common scientific and medical terms. - Ability to write communications that conform to the prescribed style and format.
- Possess advanced knowledge and skills utilizing computers including internet functions.
- Proficiency with basic computer
operations including word-processing, spreadsheet, database, graphics, and publications.
The starting hourly range for this
position is 23.91 to 29.89 based on experience.
