Description:

UMBC is seeking an Equity and
Inclusion Case Manager who will report to the Director of the Ofice of Equity and Inclusion/Title IX Coordinator. The incumbent will provide
supportive, educational and administrative leadership to support UMBC’s Office of Equity and Inclusion through case
management.

of Equity and Inclusion through case management.

Responsibilities:

The Equity and Inclusion Case Manager will provide supportive
and administrative leadership to support UMBC’s Office of Equity and Inclusion (OEI). The Equity and Inclusion Case Manager will have
primary responsibilities for case intake and management. This position requires the ability to work with confidential and highly sensitive
information and maintain confidentiality in compliance with university policies, procedures, and federal and state laws/regulations.

The Equity and Inclusion Case Manager will coordinate closely with the OEI Director/Title IX Coordinator, to conduct initial assessments
of all reports of sexual misconduct, discrimination, and harassment and conduct intakes with individuals who make a report and/or
disclosure. The Equity and Inclusion Case Manager will serve as the primary resource for managing and ensuring all parties, including
students, faculty, and staff, have access to the appropriate supportive measures and campus and/or community resources and will coordinate
the follow up and monitoring of the individuals for any additional supportive measures or resource referrals. The Equity and Inclusion Case
Manager will maintain comprehensive documentation using a case management system and product relevant data reports as needed.

The
Equity and Inclusion Case Manager will build and maintain relationships with various campus departments, including but not limited to
Counseling Services, Health Services, University Police, Women’s Center, Academic Departments, and will provide care and support as
students, faculty, and staff navigate the resolution process.

Primary Responsibilities:

  • Review and
    respond to reports of sexual misconduct, discrimination, or harassment made via an online report portal, email, telephone, or from direct
    outreach from students, faculty, staff, or third parties; assess reports to identify immediate safety or urgent response needs and triage
    as needed.
  • Conduct intake meeting with individuals who make a report or disclosure of sexual misconduct, discrimination, or
    harassment in a timely manner to gather additional information about the report, offer supportive measures and resources, explain the
    resolution options, policies, and procedures.
  • Conduct an initial assessment based upon information received from report and intake
    meetings to determine appropriate next steps for resolution to include but not limited to determining when a report should be referred
    outside of OEI for resolution.
  • Ensure that all parties involved in a case receive appropriate supportive measures and referrals to
    on and off campus resources to include monitoring for effectiveness and adjusting supportive measures and referrals as needed.
  • Maintain comprehensive, up-to-date, accessible, and accurate documentation within the case management system, to include all reports,
    correspondence, notes, referrals, and action items. This includes timely creation, update, and closure of case in the case management
    system and entry of relevant case notes and documentation for Clery reporting.
  • Coordinate case follow-up to include drafting and
    sending correspondence to reporters, parties, and other campus entities, providing timely updates to all parties involved, and monitoring
    case resolution timelines.

Required Minimum Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s Degree preferably in Social
    Work, Psychology or a related field and  experience with conflict management, case management and training.
  • Two years of
    experience with case management or serving as an EEO/AA/Title IX Coordinator
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office and case management
    systems (e.g., Advocate, Maxient, or similar case management system).
  • Knowledge of civil rights/equal opportunity and other
    relevant laws such as Title VI, Title VII, Title IX, Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA), Section 504 of the Rehabilitation Act, Clery
    Act, and VAWA.
  • Strong administrative skills to include the ability to track case progression, meet established timelines, maintain
    accurate and detailed records, and follow-up as needed.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills with a strong attention
    to detail, highly organized, and project management skills.
  • Keen interpersonal skills, cultural awareness, and sensitivity to
    interact, collaborate, establish rapport, and maintain productive working relationships with students, faculty, administrators, and staff
    from diverse populations.
  • Demonstrated ability to work with highly sensitive and private topics in a professional, confidential,
    unbiased, and consistent manner.

Preferred Qualifications: 

  • At least one (1) year of experience of case
    management or EEO/AA/Title IX Coordinator experience in a higher education setting is preferred.
  • Prior experience specifically
    with the use of Advocate case management system preferred.
  • Experience in the field of threat assessment including knowledge of
    threat assessment concepts, models, and/or instruments is highly desirable.
