General Summary

Responsible for the coordination and assessment of programs and support services developed for
students through the Center of Race ad Equity. Assist with fostering a welcoming and supportive community for students from all cultural
backgrounds. Provide support and referrals for university initiatives designed to increase retention and improve degree completion. Provide
general administrative support for the department of Diversity, Equity and Inclusion Services and Programming. .

Principal
Duties and Responsibilities

Plan, implement, market and evaluate programs that educate the campus about race, ethnicity and
multiculturalism from an intersectional lens and promote access and equity in higher education (cultural heritage programs, multicultural
and interfaith initiatives). . . Coordinate initiatives that engage and increase retention and degree completion for first-generation
students and students of color (e.g. L.I.V.E. Welcome Celebration, the BrotherHOOD/SisterHOOD Initiatives, multicultural
orientation/reception and graduation ceremonies, leadership development, etc.). . . Serve on the Martin Luther King, Jr. Celebration
Planning Committee as Coordinator for the MLK President’s Luncheon (e.g. budget management, menu, essay contest, writing the script,
legislative seating, identifying and training student emcees, etc.). . . Assist in the planning and implementation of collaborative
cross-campus initiatives relating to race, ethnicity and multiculturalism from an intersectional lens. . . Identify programs that meet
Learning Beyond the Classroom learning objectives and requirements and track student participation in these programs. . . Assist with
development and implementation of departmental social justice education programs, conducting workshops that focus on awareness of cultural
differences and commonalities, privilege, race, ethnicity and their intersections across multiple identities. Serve as a campus resource for
multicultural education and training for faculty, administrative offices, academic support programs and student organizations. . . Serve as
liaison for recognized student organizations that serve students from diverse cultural and religious backgrounds. Assist with development of
collaborative programming and advise students interested in starting new cultural organizations. . . Serve as an advisor to student
organizations in the absence of a Faculty Advisor. . . Collaborate with Campus Life to provide specialized leadership development
opportunities for students of color. Recruit, train, develop and supervise CMA student staff and assist with training other DCI student
staff. . . Provide feedback to supervisors on operational and administrative matters including research of best practices and making
recommendations for program changes and improvements. Coordinate evaluations for the Center of Race and Equity, including programs and
student performance. . . Administer programs within assigned fiscal resources and manage appropriate collection and deposit of cash funds
for ticketed events. Operate within and enforce relevant departmental and university policies and procedures. Coordinate and supervise all
logistical, theatrical, technical and event management operations. Negotiate and execute contracts and ensure university compliance with all
legal agreements. Work with DCI staff to create opportunities for student learning and development and to identify relevant student learning
and developmental outcomes for all programs and services. Develop tools to assess student needs; to identify negative or restrictive
environmental conditions; to measure achievement of student learning outcomes and to ensure high quality programming. . . Assist with the
identification and development of grant proposals to support departmental activities. Plan, implement and manage technology and web-based
programs, social media and other communication and marketing strategies. . . Ensure that the Center maintains an active role in relevant
state, regional and national professional organizations and associations. Represent the Center on university and/or community planning
groups and committees. Support the Director with development and implementation of departmental initiatives. . . Perform other related
duties as required. .

Minimum Qualifications:

Knowledge and skills in student development and diversity,
equity and inclusion practices, typically acquired through the completion of a Master’s Degree in educational administration, college
student personnel, guidance and counseling, or other related field or the combination of education, work experience, and other relevant
credentials that enable the performance of all aspects of the position is required.Proven ability to apply comprehensive, culturally
inclusive knowledge of student developmental theory to educational programming and services is required. At least two years of professional,
post-graduate work experience planning, organizing and evaluating programs pertaining to social justice in higher education or community
organization is required. Excellent interpersonal, organizational, oral and written communication skills is required. Demonstrated ability
to use basic and some advanced functions of Window and/or Mac operating systems, Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint), the
internet and web-based forms is required. Working knowledge of research or academic work on diversity or social justice is desirable. Must
be willing to work irregular and flexible hours, including evenings, weekends and some holidays.
