Job Title: Multicultural & Diversity Focused Clinical Counselor for Counseling Services,
Reports To: Director of Counseling Services
Status: Full Time, Exempt, 10-month position
Primary Duties and Responsibilities
1. Function as a clinician providing individual and group therapy to
undergraduate and graduate students
2. Develop, coordinate, and implement student programming and outreach events, including
but not limited to presentations, trainings, and/or workshops centered on a broad range of mental health related topics relevant to the
Mount Saint Mary College community
3. Support the center’s crisis intervention efforts, including daytime response as needed
and after-hours on-call responsibilities on a rotating basis shared with Counseling Services staff
4. Complete necessary and required
clinical and administrative paperwork and tasks in a timely manner, consistent with office expectations and professional standards
5.
Consult and work cooperatively with faculty, staff, and other MSMC personnel on issues relevant to the mental health needs, behaviors, and
educational performance of students
6. Provide support to graduate clinical interns, as well as other student workers in the office
including undergraduate psychology interns and work study students
7. Participate in MSMC events including but not limited to
orientation, open house events, and commencement
8. Maintain cooperative and collaborative relationships with external community
partners for purposes including referral, consultation, and other needs that serve MSMC students
9. Assist leadership in
decision making around appropriate level of care for students
10. Participate in the development of counseling policies, forms, and
procedures
11. Perform other related duties as assigned
Requirements
1. Master’s Degree in Counseling,
Psychology, Social Work, or closely related field. Currently licensed or license-eligible in New York as an LMHC, LCSW, LMFT, LCAT, or other
relevant clinical discipline.

3. Two or more years
of post-graduate clinical practice, with significant experience conducting brief therapy techniques with emerging adults for a wide range of
presenting concerns preferred
4. Demonstrates strong clinical skills and experience with crisis intervention, referral
coordination, diagnostic skills and individualized risk assessments preferred
5. Exhibits well-rounded professionalism, is able to
work autonomously as well as contribute to a team by giving and receiving consultation with colleagues and promote a healthy work
environment
6. Demonstrated awareness and experience with diverse populations including, but not limited to, LGBTQ+, BIPOC, and
international students
7. Experience or strong interest in conducting outreach programming, presentations, trainings, and/or
workshops relevant to college student populations
8. Excellent written and verbal communication skills, ability and comfort speaking
in front of an audience
9. Familiarity and knowledge of electronic health records, Microsoft Office programs, Outlook, and Google
10. Bilingual (Spanish) preferred
