POSITION SUMMARY
Acts as a stage manager and provides technical support for on and off campus user groups, especially Fine Arts Department music and theatrical events, including on weekends and evenings. Supervises construction and/or acquisition of scenery, properties, costumes, light, sound and any other technical aspects of theatrical production. Schedules theatre usage. Performs basic accounting, inventory tracking, and equipment maintenance. Flexible schedule including weekends and evening work hours are required.
ESSENTIAL JOB DUTIES AND KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
1. Coordinate the construction and/or acquisition of stage sets, properties, stage lighting, costumes and sound requirements for all theatre productions.
2. Organize, coordinate, and schedule theatre usage for on and off campus groups including all fine arts events.
3. Coordinate, supervise and provide assistance (if needed) for load in and load out for visiting productions and/or user groups.
4. Design of stage sets may be assigned as needed.
5. Provide equipment, lighting, and personnel needs requested by theatre user groups.
6. Budget and coordinate the ordering, upkeep, inventory, and maintenance of all theatre equipment, tools, properties, supplies, and costumes.
7. Coordinate and supervise front of the house personnel including box office
personnel, ushers and concession stand workers including receipts and
depositing of funds.
8. Supervise and coordinate all maintenance of the stage and backstage in order to maintain a clean and safe work environment.
9. Instruct all users on the safe use of tools, electronic equipment and supplies. Supervise part-time Theatre Assistants, student employees, full and part-time student volunteers and community volunteers.
10. Coordinate and/or perform the inventory and maintenance of all theatre
equipment, tools, properties, supplies and costumes.
11. Maintain good public relations with theatre user groups, both within the college and in the community.
12. Maintain professional contacts in technical theatre and theatre management. Attend recruitment events on campus and in the community.
13. Maintain the archives of past theatre productions.
Participate in achieving departmental and collegiate goals and objectives.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS
1. Bachelor’s degree in Technical Theatre.
2. Two (2) years of experience working in Theatre.
3. Proficient with Microsoft Office
4. Ability to establish and maintain cooperative and effective working relationships with other members of the college and community, displaying cultural competence as well as emotional intelligence.

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS
1. English and Spanish verbal and written communication proficiency.

PHYSICAL DEMANDS
1. Normal Fine Arts stage and office physical demands.
2. Ability to lift up to 50lbs.
3. Ability to travel between campus locations and to and from community events.
4. Must be able to work safely with and around power tools, on ladders, lifts and with electricity.
5. The work often involves getting dirty or dusty and being around paint fumes.
WORKING CONDITIONS
1. Duties are performed indoors in the usual Fine Arts environment.
