$15.58 hourly up to 29 hours per week.
Responsibilities
DESCRIPTION:
Provides mentoring, tutoring, and other academic support for students enrolled in assigned courses. Works directly with classroom instructor and Academic Success Center leadership to tailor support interventions to align with course objectives and topics.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:
1. Facilitates supplemental instruction sessions and study groups outside of class for students enrolled in assigned courses and coordinates efforts with assigned faculty member(s) to ensure alignment with course objectives and topics.
2. Monitors course LMS and utilizes course syllabi, course schedules, course assignment lists, and faculty input to identify at-risk students and develop individualized learning plans for improving student performance. Conducts personal outreach to identified students and monitors ongoing performance.
3. Attends class meetings regularly per assigned work schedule, and engages in weekly correspondence with students through course LMS site regarding upcoming assignments/assessments, study groups or other relevant events.
4. Assists in the Academic Success Center by providing tutoring services to the student body per assigned work schedule.
5. Communicates to students in assigned courses regarding effective student skills, the availability of academic support opportunities, and other available academic resources.
6. Supports students enrolled in assigned course online via web-conference, learning management system integration, email, or other similar means.
7. Performs all site and position specific responsibilities as assigned.
REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS:
1. Associate’s Degree or equivalent from an accredited post-secondary institution
2. Experience with coursework delivered in a hybrid or 100% online environment
DESIRED QUALIFICATIONS:
1. Bachelor’s degree or equivalent.
2. Experience working in the academic support or student services areas of a post-secondary education institution.
3. Subject area proficiency with the academic content of an Arts & Sciences discipline

3. Proficient in computer skills in a Windows environment.
