POSITION PURPOSE

The Academic Resource Center Testing and Tutoring Coordinator is responsible for supporting the academic mission of Whitman College by assisting with providing access to Whitman’s educational program for all students. Under the supervision of the Director of Academic Support Services, the Testing and Tutoring Coordinator will support the academic mission of Whitman College by working with students, faculty, and campus departments to coordinate all aspects of accommodated testing and tutoring. This is a full-time staff position working 10 months out of each year with summers off.

PRINCIPAL ACCOUNTABILITIES

  • Oversee and coordinate all aspects of accommodated testing for students with disabilities including exam scheduling, proctoring, and general coordination.
  • Oversee, coordinate, and advertise the College’s Tutoring services; coordinate with colleagues on hiring, training, and matching peer tutors with students.
  • Perform other tasks as needed and when bandwidth is available.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS

  • Associate’s degree or relevant experience in the field of education.
  • Experience supervising, advising, and mentoring diverse students in an educational setting.

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS

  • Basic understanding of accessibility and disability support services in higher education.
  • Experience supervising, advising, and mentoring diverse college students in a rigorous academic environment at the college or university level.
