Title: Bilingual Testing Assistant

Department: Testing & Assessment Services

Campus Location: Arnold/Main Campus

Salary Range: $15/hour

Work Mode: This position requires a full-time in-person presence on campus or at alternative locations.

Hours Per Week: 25 hours per week, part-time

Position Type: Hourly and Temporary, Non-Exempt

Position Summary

The Bilingual Testing Assistant will administer and proctor examinations for AACC students, prospective students, community members, and certification candidates. The Bilingual Testing Assistant must keep exam security at the forefront of their work while providing excellent customer services to a diverse population. This position must respond to student needs, use ADA technology, and provide support to students, staff, faculty, and community members. The Bilingual Testing Assistant must have excellent written and oral communication skills in both English and Spanish. Note: in person work is an essential function of this position.

Job Duties and Responsibilities

– Administer exams to Spanish speaking candidates for our contract testing

– Administer course based exams, placement testing, and vendor exams.

– Interview, assess and counsel students concerning educational background, test results and appropriate course placement; refer students to college resources as appropriate.

– Administer exams to students needing accommodations for disabilities.

– Adhere to test security guidelines and best practices.

– Enforce testing policies

– Maintain proctor certification requirements

– Clerical work such as processing exam submissions, answering emails and phone calls

– Other duties as assigned.

Required Qualifications:

Associate of Arts degree or equivalent combination of education and experience required.

Must be bilingual in English and Spanish with the ability to read, write, and speak fluently.

Must be available to work on Fridays 8:30 am – 4:30 pm.

Customer service experience required

Working knowledge of Microsoft Office suite products and a high level of comfort with learning and using different computer software and web based applications

Ability to work with minimal supervision with attention to detail.

Ability and willingness to deal effectively with students, faculty and staff while providing exemplary customer service.

Ability and willingness to work flexible hours, including day, weekend, and evening hours, to accommodate the needs of the department and college.
