Director of Writing Assessment

Description:

Albion College invites applications for the Director of Writing Assessment position. We are especially interested in candidates who will contribute to a campus climate that supports equity, diversity, and belonging. The Director of Writing Assessment coordinates the Writing Proficiency Requirement, a graduation requirement for all Albion College students; teaches English Department courses; and provides direct and indirect writing support to students, faculty, and staff.  

Independent judgment is required to plan, prioritize, and organize a diversified workload with sensitivity and confidentiality. Full-Time/Part-Time: Full-Time

Position Duration: 10.5 months (August 1 – June 15)

Qualifications:

• Requires a Doctorate in English. ABD okay.

• Relevant experience and knowledge in Writing Studies theory and practice; classroom teaching experience, ideally in a range of writing-focused subject areas

• Experience providing academic writing support to a broad range of students in a college setting, including students academically at-risk and/or with learning disabilities
