Position Summary

Austin has set a bold goal: to become the world’s highest-impact public research university. We are seeking an ambitious, visionary
leader to join our team as Associate Vice President (AVP) for Campus Operations, reporting directly to the Senior Vice President and Chief
Operations Officer (SVP/COO).
This is a transformational time for UT, and we are looking for a transformational leader. The AVP will
create and sustain a culture of curiosity, trust, and creativity, and drive positive change. The AVP will think and operate holistically and
systematically, establish and implement a clear vision and strategic direction for the division, and catalyze new approaches to achieve
excellence across the university.
The ideal candidate will be an agile, articulate thought leader and a strategic thought
partner to the SVP/COO. They will motivate and lead a large, multifaceted portfolio and workforce that includes: utilities and power
systems, facilities services/physical plant, capital construction projects, grounds and building maintenance, custodial services, mechanical
and electrical shops, and environmental health and fire safety, while also working in close coordination with campus planning.
We are
in search of a dynamic, credible individual who can represent the SVP/COO externally with key stakeholders and proactively and effectively
communicate internally. This person’s ethos will be synonymous with authenticity, humility, and an aspiration to change the world.
