Job Summary:
The University of Illinois at
Urbana-Champaign (UIUC) is seeking a broadly talented, strategic, human
resources focused professional for the newly created role of Assistant
Chancellor for Strategic Programs & Partnerships (AC). As an important
member of the Illinois Human Resources team (IHR), the AC will enjoy leading
and participating in a transformational change effort underway within IHR that
will have a cascading effect on this important research university. The ideal
candidate provides vision, strategy,
and day-to-day leadership and management to ensure the human resource services
are delivered in a timely and client-focused manner to the University
community.

Reporting to the Senior Associate
Chancellor for Human Resources/Chief Human Resources Officer, the AC is a
member of the IHR Leadership Cabinet, and his/her/their team fulfills a primary
liaison role with HR Campus Partners and the University Senate. In partnership
with the IHR Leadership Team, and University Administration, the AC will have a
pivotal role in strategic leadership and implementing human resource programs
and services for the UIUC campus. This position has a direct impact on
executing a collaborative plan that fosters positive workplace culture through
clear policy design and implementation, strategic leadership informed by data
and metrics, and attracting visionary executive leadership which builds on a
culture of excellence. Key areas of operational oversight are: Strategic Transformation Programs, HR Analytics, Policy
Design & Administration, and the Executive Search Group.

While candidates may come from diverse
backgrounds, the ideal candidate will possess a minimum of five years of
supervisory/leadership experience. They will have experience working in
decentralized environments and appreciate the culture of shared governance. An
astute listener, a gifted relationship builder, change agent and self-starter,
they will bring excellence in both verbal and written communication, including
presentation skills and facilitation skills and the ability to manage multiple
priorities and agendas. A bachelor’s degree from an accredited college or
university is required and a master’s degree is preferred. Human resources experience,
knowledge of organizational development, and leveraging innovative technologies
are also desired.

This is a 100% full-time Academic Professional position, appointed on a 12-month basis. The expected start date is as soon as possible after 9/16/2023.
