Job Description
Anderson University (AU), a private liberal arts Christian University in Anderson, Indiana, seeks a visionary and transformational leader
to serve as Vice President for Advancement. As a member of Cabinet, the Vice President for Advancement will partner with the President, John
Pistole, and work collaboratively with Vice Presidents, other members of Cabinet, and the campus community to plan and implement a
comprehensive advancement program consistent with the University’s strategic plan. This will include planning and leading the
institution’s fund-raising activities, including major and planned gifts and a growing annual giving program, furthering corporate and
foundational support, and strengthening alumni and other relations.

strategic judgment; self-motivation, goal orientation, and sensitivity to the needs of diverse constituencies; a high degree of initiative
and creativity; an active, maturing Christian faith journey; and a willingness to understand the relationship of Anderson University to its
sponsoring organization, the Church of God, Anderson, IN.
Requirements
- Bachelor degree
- Proven
experience and success in development and fund-raising activities including leading campaigns, working with trustees and other volunteers,
and making six and seven-figure asks - Strong communication skills with proven ability to deliver information effectively and
persuasively - Proven ability to lead, organize, and motivate an advancement team
- Exceptional written, oral, and
interpersonal communication skills - Commitment to implement prospect management best practices
- Personal integrity and good
strategic judgment - Willing to travel locally, regionally and nationally to make face-to-face visits with donors/potential
donors - Must meet University lifestyle expectations
Highly Desired
- Advanced degree
and/or other professional certifications, such as CFRE - Comparable comprehensive experience at the senior executive level
- Functional knowledge of donor management software (Blackbaud preferred)
