Piedmont Virginia Community College (PVCC) invites nominations and applications for the position of Associate Vice President and Chief
Human Resources Officer (CHRO). Reporting to the president, the CHRO is a member of the president’s cabinet and serves as the
college’s leader on all matters that contribute to the overall mission, vision, and strategic priorities of the institution related to
talent acquisition and retention.
Piedmont Virginia Community College, established in 1972, is celebrating 50 years of excellence and
impact. PVCC is a comprehensive community college committed to access, opportunity, and excellence for learners who plan a certificate or
degree to enter the workforce upon graduation, to transfer with junior status to a four-year university, or to reskill to remain current in
their present role. We are one of twenty-three community colleges that comprise the Virginia Community College System.
The successful
candidate must possess The successful candidate must possess a master’s degree in human resources, business management, or a related
field
- At least three years of human resources management experience
- A thorough knowledge of employment-related laws
and regulations - Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite or related software, and proficiency with or the ability to quickly learn
the organization’s HRIS and talent management systems - Preferred experience:
- At least five years of human resource
management experience - SHRM-CP or SHRM-SCP highly preferred
- Working experience with PeopleSoft HRMS system or other HRMS
system - Experience with the Virginia Department of Human Resources procedures and guidelines
- Experience in higher education
