Job Description

An executive staff member reporting directly to the president, the Vice President for Advancement is responsible for the overall
planning, administration, and management of advancement initiatives, engagement strategies, and fundraising efforts that advance the
University’s strategic plans and goals. Engage in the University’s institutional effectiveness process including annual planning
and outcomes assessment, applying effective methods of evaluation and continuous improvement as related to the division of advancement.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Direct the development of strategic plans and strategies for
    successful implementation of fundraising objectives throughout the University as established by the Board, President, and executive staff,
    including participation in the development of the University’s long-range plans.
  • Ensure that effective program planning and
    assessment is carried out to accomplish the goals and objectives of the University’s and the Advancement division’s strategic
    plans. Evaluate staff based on performance criteria that supports and advances the department’s and University’s strategic
    plans.
  • Working closely with the President and key Advancement and University staff, develop engagement strategies, cultivate, and
    solicit gifts from major University prospects.
  • Serve as an advisor to the President, other senior administrators, and the Board of
    Trustees in all advancement endeavors of the University.
  • Carry out administrative duties for the Advancement division, including
    directing all areas of the Advancement budget development and effectively monitoring program costs.
  • Supervises the Office of Alumni
    Relations and Office of Sponsored Programs, Corporate and Foundation Relations.
  • Ensure timely reports are prepared to inform
    division-wide progress to the President, executive staff, and Board of Trustees.
  • Review, develop, interpret, and enforce policies
    and procedures to ensure compliance with applicable laws and University policies.
  • Serve on University committees as assigned.
