Job Description
This position reports directly to the President of Maine Maritime Academy, with responsibility to provide leadership and management as the Academy’s Vice President for Student Affairs & College Relations. Works collaboratively at the strategic level with the senior administration while being responsible for activities affecting student living and quality; all aspects of student co-curricular and extra-curricular activities; and communications and marketing.
DUTIES
· Must provide leadership and management.
· Provides strategic leadership for student affairs initiatives.
· Supervises the Dean of Student Services and all departments within Student Services.
· Supervises the Director of Athletics and provides oversight of policy, budgetary and personnel decisions within the Department of Athletics.
· Supervises the Marketing Coordinator
· Reviews, updates, and creates policy and procedures for the aforementioned departments.
· Provides leadership and direction for the Academy Community Honor System and oversight of judicial system.
· Develops policies and practices to ensure that all programs, activities, and staff comply with best practices of risk management and compliance with federal and state regulations and ethical practices including but not limited to Title IX.
· Coordinates data collection and submission of reports as required by NCAA and Department of Education.
· Provides budgetary oversight for all Student Services, Athletics, Marketing and Communications funds and expenditures.
· Coordinates assessment activities for the division, including development of learning outcomes and assessment or progress in achieving outcomes in collaboration with the Provost.

QUALIFICATIONS
· Bachelor’s Degree Required. Master’s Degree Preferred.
· Proven record of experience and progressive leadership responsibilities
· Familiarity with retention strategies, student discipline, and culture within student environments
· Experience with communications and marketing required. Experience in multiple professional settings in the private sector especially in areas of public relations, governmental affairs, and media relations preferred.
