Job Description:
What We Are Looking For
Baylor University is seeking an Assistant Dean
of Student Services for the George W. Truett Theological Seminary. This position is responsible for all related student services, including
but not limited to the following: recruitment, enrollment, admissions, financial aid, scholarships, student life activities, and student
conduct. Additionally, the Assistant Dean serves as a member of the Dean’s Executive Cabinet and will directly influence the entire student
population and all degree programs at Truett Seminary. This position will supervise a team of four staff members and up to ten student
workers.
A doctoral degree, five years of relevant work experience, and an active Christian faith are required. Applicants
must be currently authorized to work in the United States on a full-time basis.
What You Will Do
- Provide visionary leadership, in collaboration with the Dean, and oversee all activities of recruitment, retention, enrollment
management, orientation programs, scholarship processes, and student conduct for the betterment of both prospective and current students. - Lead and support the committees within student services, such as the Admissions Committee, Scholarship Committee, Student Conduct
Committee, and other committees as needed in consultation with the Dean. Build and deepen relationships with key areas of the University,
including Baylor’s Religion Department, Office of Global Engagement, Spiritual Life Center, Office of the Registrar, Financial Aid, and
others as necessary for student growth and retention. - Provide guidance, in consultation with the Dean, for the Student Conduct
Committee by monitoring academic probations, suspensions, appeals, and other student related matters. - Chair the Scholarship
Committee that oversees and administers all scholarships awarded by Truett Seminary. Work with the Scholarship Coordinator, Business
Officer, Dean, and leaders within Baylor’s Financial Aid Office to identify students, match ministerial preferences to scholarship
restrictions, and assign awards in a timely manner. Align all scholarship deadlines with thank you letters and donor communication through
Baylor’s Office of Donor Relations. - Lead and manage initiatives in order to achieve both annual and long-term enrollment and
retention goals. Provide leadership for the well-being of the Seminary student body regarding student activities and wellness programs both
on and off campus. - Perform other duties as assigned by Dean.
