ADMINISTRATIVE UNITS
The county is composed of six Constituencies, 15 administrative divisions namely: Ainamoi,Belgut, Kabianga, Bureti, Roret, Cheborge, Sigowet and Soin. Other Admibnistrative Divisions are: Kunyak, Chilchila, Kamasian, Kipkelion, Londiani, Sorget and Chepseon. These are further su-devided into 85 locations that are further sub-divided into 209 sub-locations. It covers an area of2,479 sq. km.Duties and responsibilities
Duties and responsibilities will include the following;
Planning, design, supervision of construction, contracts, materials investigating and research related to roads and other related structures;
control and supervision of staff and financial control in the Division, Administrative matters, procurement financial control and supervision of staff;
Ensuring suffiency of design and contract drawings;
Implementation of the specifications and quality control;
Formulation of design standards and procedure;
Development of research on materials in roads/civil works;
Registration of consulting engineers, registration of roads engineering, contractors; and
Coordination of design supervision of construction and maintenance of roads, bridges, drainages and other related civil works.
Requirements for Appointment
For appointment to this grade an officer must have: –
Served in the grade of Principal superintending Engineer(roads) or comparable and relevant position in the public service for at last three (3 years);
Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering or its equivalent and other relevant qualification from a recognized institution;
Registered with the engineer’s registration board of Kenya (ERB);
A current valid annual practicing license from Engineers Registration Board of Kenya;
Corporate membership with institution of Engineers of Kenya (IEK); and
Attended Strategic Leadership Development Course (SLDP) not less than six (6 weeks) from a recognized institution.
Terms of Service: Three (3) Year Contract
