ADMINISTRATIVE UNITS
The county is composed of six Constituencies, 15 administrative divisions namely: Ainamoi,Belgut, Kabianga, Bureti, Roret, Cheborge, Sigowet and Soin. Other Admibnistrative Divisions are: Kunyak, Chilchila, Kamasian, Kipkelion, Londiani, Sorget and Chepseon. These are further su-devided into 85 locations that are further sub-divided into 209 sub-locations. It covers an area of2,479 sq. km.KCPSB/2023/195
Duties and Responsibilities
The duties and responsibilities will include the following: –
Designing, detailing and site supervision of structures in various materials and forms of construction;
Liaising with architects and other agencies on project development;
Checking and monitoring projects designed by consulting engineers and structural assistants working in the specific project;
supervising of structural, civil and Drainage works prepared by the Department and consulting engineers;
Enforcing specifications, compliance with engineers’ drawings, conditions of contract, quality control, approval and measurement of completed works, progress reports and guidance of Roads engineers on all technical aspects of the work;
Supervising structural and civil works prepared by the Department and consulting engineers; and
Enforcing specifications, compliance with engineers’ drawings, conditions of contract, quality control, approval and measurement of completed works, progress reports and guidance of county structural engineers on all technical aspects of the work.
Requirements for Appointment
For appointment to this grade, an officer must have:
Served in the grade of Senior Superintending Engineer (Structural) or comparable and relevant position in the Public Service for at least three (3) years or six (6) years in a comparable position in the private sector;
A Bachelor’s Degree in Civil Engineering from a recognized institution in Kenya;
Been registered with the Engineering Registration Board of Kenya (ERB);
A current valid annual practicing license from the Engineers Registration Board of Kenya;
Corporate membership with the Institution of Engineers of Kenya (IEK); and
Strategic leadership Development Course or related course lasting not less than six (6) weeks from a recognized institution will be an added advantage.
Terms of Service: Three (3) Year Contract.
