Job Summary
The Sustainability Manager is responsible for executing on various components of the Sustainability plan with a primary focus on supporting client sustainability communications.
This individual will be the primary point of contact for our clients on all sustainability topics. They will prepare client sustainability presentations and updates to drive progress of our Planet Promise commitments and to support client sustainability goals. They understand the Hospitality industry and will partner with the various Corporate and Operations teams to promote the adoption and ensure success of our sustainability initiatives.
How you will make an impact:
- Assist in the delivery of our Sustainability plan that meets our Compass Planet Promise goals. Key components of this plan include Food Waste and Packaging waste reduction, Animal Welfare, and Local Sourcing. The broader overall goal is to reach net zero carbon emissions by 2050, with specific interim goals along the way.
- Prepare and deliver detailed Client Sustainability reports that outline KPI progress to targets, and opportunities for improvements or implementation of new initiatives
- Understand clients’ business needs and goals and provide tailored recommendations and solutions to drive the adoption and success of sustainability programs
- Monitor and analyze client data and performance metrics to identify areas for improvement and provide actionable recommendations for Quarterly Business Reviews
- Liaise with the Canadian Envision (Innovation, Data and Insights, Culinary, Construction, Project Management, Marketing) teams, SAG, Operations, Foodbuy, Finance and other teams as required to create fulsome project plans and reports
- Project Manage the execution/implementation of Sustainability initiatives with clients
- Support the development of RFPs and re-bids by providing relevant sustainability responses
About you:
- 5+ years of relevant work experience, Project Management or Operations experience preferred
- Proven experience in a customer success, account management, or customer support role
- Experience and knowledge of food service and hospitality operations
- A desire to drive change and make an impact
- An energetic, curious, continuous learner with an interest and knowledge of sustainability in food supply chains
- Highly organized, results oriented with a proven ability to execute on projects with analytical/strategic thinking skills
- Ability to communicate with all levels in an organization including senior leaders
- Proven ability to develop and maintain strong relationships with clients as a trusted advisor
- Strong verbal and written communication and presentation skills
- Self-starter, proactive and able to work independently as well as collaboratively within a team
- Detail-oriented, organized, and capable of managing multiple client accounts simultaneously
- Bilingual is a plus
