Position Information
The Academic Advisor 4 will
provide a high level of advising on the varied programs in the International Education Program at University Extension. The incumbent will
work with students from around the world in navigating the academic policies and procedures of both Extension programs, as well as UCR
campus regulations. The incumbent will assist students, as needed, in acclimate to the United States, and will assist with helping students
find the resources and/or services they need. Incumbent will serve as point of contact for student emergencies.
The budgeted salary
scale for this position is $61,800 to $85,900 with placement within it being based on the individual’s qualifications as they relate to this
position.
Applicants must have current work authorization when accepting a UCR staff position. Currently, we are unable to sponsor or
take over sponsorship of an employment Visa for staff.

- Bachelor’s degree in related area and/or equivalent experience/training.
Required
Experience
- 6 – 10 years of related experience.

- Advanced knowledge of
advising and counseling techniques. Knowledge of multiple majors, colleges, and schools. - Abilities in problem identification,
reasoning, and ability to develop original ideas to solve problems. - Thorough knowledge of department/college/school precedents and
application of policy. - Thorough knowledge of college/school policies, procedures, and requirements.
- Skills in judgment and
decision-making, problem solving, project management. - Ability to work independently
