Salary: $47,800 – $81,000

Position Information

Under direct supervision of the
Academic Program Manager, the Academic Advisor provides wide-ranging academic advising to our student population in various programs.
Applies professional concepts and provides prescriptive advice on academic policies and procedures for the different University Extension
programs. Receives assistance on more complex issues. Makes decisions on academic pathways, late course actions, and other matters of
similar importance for individual students. Works with the other units, such as Admissions, Student Experience, and Finance, to assist
students thru the various stages of their programs from acceptance to graduation.

The anticipated hiring range for this position will
be $47,800 to $64,400.

Applicants must have current work authorization when accepting a UCR staff position. Currently, we are unable
to sponsor or take over sponsorship of an employment Visa for staff.

Education

Education Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in related area and/or equivalent experience/training. Required

Experience

  • 2 – 4 years of related experience. Required

Minimum Requirements

  1. Skills in judgment, decision-making, and problem solving.
  2. Strong written and
    verbal communication skills, including active listening.
  3. Abilities in problem identification, reasoning, ability to develop original
    idea to solve problems.
  4. Knowledge of department/school/college policies, procedures, and requirements.
  5. Basic knowledge of
    advising and counseling techniques.
  6. Ability to multi-task.
  7. Knowledge of departmental/school/college courses and
    majors.
